More information about the site's opening page can be found at Radio Leeds' website which features our Harold Wagstaff Trail feature and, from the coming weekend, a feature about our discovery of 'The Salient' trenches newspaper in Kirklees Archive. The Salient, published at Xmas 1915, appears to be a little-known fore-runner to 'The Wipers Times and Salient', the most famous trenches newspaper, published seven weeks later.

Rugby League World Cup Launch

This was at the George Hotel. A group of youngster from Scholes Junior & Infant school superbly acted out a never-before scene from theplay 'Brokenb Time'. It showed the meeting in the same room where the document was signed thereby creating the Northern Union.
